Uttarakhand: CM Dhami said – There will be a land law for those who buy and sell land indiscriminately

Dehradun: The Chief Minister said that the government is bringing a land law for those who buy and sell land indiscriminately. Even before the land law came, land in 750 cases has been vested in the government in violation of the provisions. These were the lands which were being misused after purchase.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the stakeholders (investors) of the state will get relief from the land law. Said that investment is necessary for the development of the state. Only investment will create new employment opportunities and the state will move forward. He reiterated that the government is also going to fulfill the promise of Uniform Civil Code. The Chief Minister said this while addressing the oath taking ceremony of the new executive of Uttaranchal Press Club at IRDT Auditorium at Survey Chowk. The Chief Minister said that the state government is taking steps forward only after taking suggestions from the stakeholders.

Discussions and suggestions are being taken from the stakeholders for the land law. The District Magistrate and Sub-District Magistrate are constantly receiving suggestions from the public. We are also going to start implementing the land law. Last year, the state government had organized an investor conference. MOUs worth Rs. 3.54 lakh crore were signed in that conference.

The Chief Minister clarified that the land law is being brought for those who have bought and sold land indiscriminately. They have misused the land, created a land bank. Those who did not use the land for the purpose for which they had bought it.

We are inviting those who have signed MOUs for investment. Investment is also necessary. Employment generation is also necessary. We also have to move towards development. The CM said that we have to make good use of all the natural resources we have here, not exploit them.
