DEHRADUN: The officiating director general of police Abhinav Kumar along with senior police officials of Uttarakhand interacted with 15 trainees of the 18th batch of directly appointed gazetted officers (DAGO) of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Police headquarters in Dehradun on Thursday. These 15 trainees are undergoing training at the CRPF Academy in Mount Abu and are currently in Uttarakhand on an educational tour. While interacting with the CRPF trainees, the DGP welcomed everyone and informed them about the geography of the State, the manpower of the State Police and the work of various branches and units of the police. He also highlighted the challenges related to peace and law and order, tourism, and religious tourism like Chardham Yatra, Kanwar Mela and important religious festivals among others. He also said that Uttarakhand borders two international countries China and Nepal due to which Uttarakhand Police has good coordination with SSB and ITBP as their personnel are deployed on those borders. “The CRPF has also established a sector office in the State, which will improve the police’s coordination with them here as well. This will also inspire the youth here to join CRPF. I am confident that you will perform the duties of this important post with full devotion, dedication and transparency,” he said. The DGP also presented a memento to the deputy inspector general of police, Dehradun Sector CRPF, Sanjeev Kumar.
