Dehradun: Expediting the establishment of computer labs and libraries in PM-Shri schools. The computer labs should be established within the next month. Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan issued these instructions during a review of PM-Shri schools at the Secretariat on Monday. He said that the budget for school libraries should be allocated soon.
The Chief Secretary also said that the establishment of integrated science laboratories in 32 PM-Shri schools should be expedited. The budget for these should be released within one month. He directed that the work be completed within the stipulated timeframe by continuously communicating with IIT Kanpur to provide tinkering labs soon. He also directed that action be taken as soon as possible to provide playgrounds in all PM-Shri schools.
During the meeting, it was informed that a total of 226 schools in the state have been selected as PM-Shri schools. This includes 34 primary and 192 secondary schools. Additionally, 15 more schools have received approval. It was reported that 16 of the 22 components of PM Shri have been fully implemented. Work on the remaining six components is in various stages.
