Dehradun: The Waqf Amendment Bill has been passed in both the houses (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha). After a long discussion of about 12 hours, the Waqf Amendment Bill was passed in the Rajya Sabha late on Thursday night. On the one hand, while many opposition parties including Congress were seen opposing the Waqf Amendment Bill, BJP leaders counted the benefits of this bill. In this sequence, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also expressed his happiness on the passing of the Waqf Amendment Bill. Also praised PM Modi.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said on the passage of the Waqf Amendment Bill in both the houses that this bill is an important step towards transparency, justice and protection of the constitutional rights of all citizens. The central government is constantly striving to strengthen good governance and judicial reforms under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The objective of this bill is to establish complete transparency, legal clarity and judicial balance in the management of Waqf properties.
The Chief Minister said that this bill has not been brought against any particular community, but to protect the rights of all citizens. Its implementation will stop false and illegal claims, which will lead to fair resolution of disputes related to land and property. It will also be ensured that Waqf properties are not misused and they are used in the wider interest of the society.
