Uttarakhand gets 18 new drug inspectors, all have been posted district wise, see list here

Dehradun: The posts of drug inspectors were lying vacant in the Uttarakhand health department for a long time. The situation was such that only three to four drug inspectors were on duty in the entire state. In such a situation, there was a demand for the deployment of drug inspectors in Garhwal and Kumaon for a long time. In view of which, today the state has got 18 new drug inspectors.

Health Secretary R Rajesh Kumar informed that these appointments have been made through the Department of Medical Health and Medical Education and Public Service Commission, Uttarakhand. The newly appointed officers have been posted for a period of two years. All have been instructed to immediately take charge at their place of posting. In a statement from the secretary, it has been said that everyone’s work will be to strengthen the administration and ensure that quality medicines reach the public at the right time. These appointments will strengthen the monitoring of the pharmaceutical supply chain of the state. The drug control system can be made more effective.

It has been observed for a long time in Dehradun and Haridwar that fake medicines are being caught continuously. In such a situation, having more officers in the department will be able to curb these. The main objective of the government is to prevent illegal and poor quality medicines from being sold in the state. He said that strict instructions have been given to the drug inspectors to regularly check the drug sellers and companies in their areas and take immediate action on any irregularities. Hardik Bhatt (Chamoli), Gaurav Kukreti (FDA Headquarters), Anuja Uppal (Nainital) while Nidhi Sharma (Udham Singh Nagar), Vinod Panwar (Dehradun), Shubham Kotlala (Udham Singh Nagar) have been posted. Similarly, Hariom Singh (Haridwar), Pankaj Pant (Pithoragarh), Pooja Rani (Bageshwar), Nisha Rawat (FDA Headquarters), Amit Kumar Azad (Rudraprayag), Rishabh Dhama (Tehri), Nidhi Raturi (Dehradun), Pooja Joshi (Almora), Harita (Champawat), Mohd. Tajin (Uttarkashi), Seema Bisht Chauhan (Pauri), Neha (Haridwar).

Drug department will be upgraded

Rajesh Kumar said that drug inspectors will be connected with modern techniques and digital monitoring system. So that the quality of all the medicines available in the market can be closely monitored. The government is fully committed to curb the sale of illegally sold antibiotics, painkillers and other controlled drugs.
