Dehradun: Under the new education policy 2020, the inclusion of cultural folk heritage and history of great personalities in the curriculum has begun. Under primary education in Uttarakhand, approval has been given to include the state’s cultural folk heritage, glorious history and biographies of great personalities in the curriculum. With which now the children will be able to read their culture and history in books.
Cultural folk heritage history included in the curriculum
The future generation of Uttarakhand will no longer be unaware of its own history and cultural importance. Under the new education policy 2020, the Uttarakhand government has also approved the inclusion of the curriculum related to it under primary education in the state. In this, the state government has approved the inclusion of the book “Hamari Virasat Evam Vibhutiyan” as a supporting booklet of social science subject. In this, this booklet will be taught in the curriculum from class 6 to 8 from the academic session 2025-26. Our Heritage and Personalities book ready
The Uttarakhand government had given the responsibility of preparing its syllabus to the State Council of Educational Research and Training. After which SCERT (State Council of Educational Research and Training) has prepared the book Our Heritage and Personalities. Through this book, students will also be exposed to the rich cultural folk heritage of the state, folk songs, folk dances, cultural diversity, history of the state and political, cultural and social movements including the movement for a separate state.
Marks division also fixed in the examination
This book prepared by SCERT was released by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in July 2024. As soon as approval was received for inclusion in the curriculum under primary education, now the education department has also started preparing for it. Marks have also been fixed for the evaluation of half-yearly and annual examinations from this book. Along with this, the time table will also be fixed for this book. According to Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat, under the provisions of the New Education Policy 2020, the contribution of great personalities along with religious, historical, social, cultural heritage is to be told to the students in the state. In such a situation, students will be introduced to all this through this book.
