Dehradun: Due to revision of voter list in Uttarakhand, transfers of many officers of the district including District Magistrates will not be possible for about 2 months. Election Commission of India has issued instructions in this regard. However, in unavoidable circumstances, transfers can be done after the NOC of the Election Commission.
Election Commission of India has issued instructions regarding transfers to important posts like District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate and SDM in the state. According to the instructions issued, transfers of these officers will not be possible in Uttarakhand for about 2 months. However, in some special circumstances, transfers can be done by taking NOC from the Commission. Election Commission of India has banned transfers from 29 October to 6 January.
The reason for the ban on the transfer of these big officers of the district by the Commission is the revision of the voter list. The work of revision of voter list is going to start in the state, for which the transfer of officers on these important posts of the district can hinder this work. In view of this, the Election Commission of India has given instructions to stop transfers in the state.
Let us tell you that the Dhami government has been doing homework for a long time regarding the transfer of IAS and PCS officers. For this, new responsibilities have also been fixed on various posts. However, there are some important posts which are being considered for a long time. Especially homework has been done for the change in the post of District Magistrate in the districts and names are being decided for this.
These instructions of the Election Commission of India to stop the transfers will come into effect from the end of October, so at present the government can release the list of homework done. It is also believed that soon the transfer list can be released from the government level on this.
Chief Electoral Officer BVRC Purushottam, while talking to the media, has confirmed the instructions of the Election Commission of India. Actually, some other officers in the district including the District Magistrate have a very important responsibility and the District Magistrate works as the District Election Officer.
