Dehradun: If the involvement of police in indecency with women and immoral activities is revealed, then they will not be spared under any circumstances. Director General of Police Abhinav Kumar has ordered to register a case against such policemen. In this regard, he has issued orders to all the district police in-charges.
In the same sequence, a case has been registered against Pantnagar SHO in the case of indecency with a woman. Whereas, action has been taken against two inspectors in Rudraprayag. Let us tell you that recently an audio of Pantnagar SHO went viral. SHO was talking to a woman in indecent language. When the matter came to the notice of higher officials, the SHO was suspended.
The image of the police is tarnished: Abhinav Kumar
At that time also DGP Abhinav Kumar had issued strict instructions to all the districts. Now two cases have come to light in Rudraprayag. Here, Kedarnath outpost in-charge Manjul Rawat and a sub-inspector posted in Guptkashi have been suspended on charges of indecent behaviour with women. After these cases came to light, the DGP has now issued orders to all district police in-charges.
DGP Abhinav Kumar said that any policeman’s involvement in misbehaviour with women and immoral activities will not be tolerated. Women’s safety is one of the top priorities of Uttarakhand Police. If the involvement of policemen comes to light, it tarnishes the image of the police. Not only this, it also sends an adverse message to the general public and women. The functioning of the police is also affected. Therefore, now along with departmental action against the accused, a case should also be registered after investigation.
