Uttarakhand: Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya and Pritam Singh resigned from the Business Advisory Committee, called BJP a dictator

Gairsain: The monsoon session of Bhararisain Assembly of Gairsain, the summer capital of Uttarakhand, could not run properly even for two days. Due to the uproar, the monsoon session could run for only 2 hours and 40 minutes. There was also no question hour in the monsoon session. At the same time, Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya and Congress MLA Pritam Singh, angry with the working style of the BJP government, have resigned from the post of member of the Business Advisory Committee. A letter has also been issued by both of them regarding this. BJP accused of arbitrariness: Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya and Congress MLA Pritam Singh have sent their resignations to Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri. Through the resignation, both the leaders said that in the last several assembly sessions, there has been an atmosphere of arbitrariness in the Business Advisory Committee on the basis of numbers.

No meeting was called on August 19: It is clearly written in the letter that before the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee in the current monsoon session, the possible program of the monsoon session was sent to all the members, under which the monsoon session was to be convened in Bhararisain from August 19 to August 22. In the Business Advisory Committee meeting called on August 18, only the program of the sub-session of August 19 was decided. It was said that a meeting would be called again after the sub-session of August 19. But no meeting was called on August 19.

The members of the Business Advisory Committee were not taken into confidence: MLA Pritam Singh says that today on August 20 also, the session was adjourned indefinitely after noon. The government should have called a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee before taking this decision and should have taken the members of the Business Advisory Committee into confidence, but nothing like this happened.

BJP adopting a dictatorial attitude: Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya and Congress MLA Pritam Singh allege that the government is adopting a dictatorial attitude in running the House. Adjourning the House convened in Bhararisain within two days is a big betrayal with the people of Uttarakhand.

When all the decisions in the Business Advisory Committee are to be taken unilaterally, then there is no point in our being a member in such a Business Advisory Committee. That is why both Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya and Congress MLA Pritam Singh resigned from the post of members of the Business Advisory Committee. Let us tell you that the work of the Business Advisory Committee is to allocate time for government work and other works in the House. So that the proceedings of the House can run smoothly.

Congress will take to the streets: Along with this, Congress MLA Pritam Singh has made it clear that now he will fight the people’s battle on the streets. Today evening, all the Congress leaders will protest by lighting candles in Bhararisain. After that, they will fight this battle on the road. The proceedings of the House lasted only for 2 hours and 40 minutes. On this, Pritam Singh said that the responsibility of running the House is not his, but of the government and the Speaker of the Assembly.

Congress’s allegation: Pritam Singh has made it clear that the Congress wanted to corner the BJP government over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. But the way power was misused in the Panchayat elections, Congress wanted to raise it in the House. But there was no discussion on it in the House.
