Dehradun: The Union Home Ministry has issued guidelines to the state governments on the deputation of IPS officers. In the sequence of these instructions, many IPS officers from Uttarakhand have also been included in the offer list of the Union Home Ministry (MHA) for deputation. However, there is a preparation to make some changes in it.
The Union Home Ministry has recently issued guidelines to the state governments regarding deputation. It has been said that some states are not sending enough names of officers to the Union Home Ministry for the deputation of IPS officers. While there are many states which are including the names of senior IPS officers at the ADG (Additional Director General of Police) or DG (Director General of Police) level in the offer list for deputation. Whereas there is a greater need for deputation of officers from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Inspector General of Police (IG) level. In such a situation, state governments have been instructed to send the names of officers from Superintendent of Police to IG level.
IG and DIG rank officers included
In Uttarakhand, the Police Headquarters had sent a letter to the government a few months ago with the recommendation to send IG and DIG rank officers on deputation. Taking cognizance of which, the Uttarakhand government had sent the names of 8 IG and DIG rank officers to the Union Home Ministry for inclusion in the offer list. Names of these officers were sent
The special thing is that the Union Home Ministry had also included the names of eight IPS officers of Uttarakhand in its offer list related to deputation. These officers included the names of IG Neeru Garg, Mukhtar Mohsin, Arun Mohan Joshi and Rajiv Swaroop. On the other hand, at the DIG level, the names of Janmejaya Khanduri, Senthil Abudai, P Renuka Devi and Varinderjit Singh were included.
Four officers gave consent
However, after the names were included in the offer list of the Union Home Ministry, the process of amendment was also started in the government. It was told that some IPS officers do not agree to go on central deputation. Whereas the consent of the IPS officer is also necessary to send on deputation. According to the information, the government has sent the names of IPS officers to the Union Home Ministry for central deputation without taking their consent. On the other hand, now the news is that the consent of four IPS officers has been received to go on central deputation. However, all of them are said to be DIG rank officers. Uttarakhand Special Secretary Home Riddhim Agarwal has confirmed that four IPS officers have got consent to go on central deputation.
Letter written to MHA to remove the names of these officers
The Uttarakhand government has written a letter to the Union Home Ministry to remove the names of four senior IPS officers from the offer list. Actually, the Union Home Ministry had earlier included the names of eight IPS officers of Uttarakhand in the offer list. But now due to not getting the consent of these officers, efforts have been made to remove their names. However, now it depends on the Union Home Ministry whether it accepts this request of the Uttarakhand government or not. The reason for this is also that after including the name in the offer list of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), these names remain in the list for 1 year.
P Renuka Devi relieved from duty for central deputation
P Renuka Devi, a 2008 batch IPS officer in Uttarakhand, has been relieved from duty by the Uttarakhand government. Actually P Renuka Devi has got approval for deputation to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). IPS P Renuka Devi has got approval for deputation for the next 5 years.
