Uttarakhand: Now specialist doctors will retire at the age of 65 instead of 60, rules approved

Dehradun: Specialist doctors in the state will now retire at the age of 65 instead of 60. The cabinet has decided to promulgate the Uttarakhand Medical Service Selection Board Ministerial Cadre Posts Merger Rules-2024 and make the service period of specialist doctors 65 years.

The responsibility of the Uttarakhand Medical Service Selection Board is to select the posts of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor in Medical Colleges, Medical Officers and Paramedical Staff in all Allopathic, Dental, AYUSH, Homeopathic, Unani hospitals for direct recruitment etc. The work is done continuously and satisfactorily. No regular recruitment personnel is currently working in the ministerial cadre of the board.

Adjustment of direct recruitment posts (three junior assistants) of ministerial cadre posted in Uttarakhand Medical Service Selection Board on the basis of service transfer through service transfer from other departments, offices and for the smooth functioning of the board office can be done. Apart from this, specialist doctors will now retire at the age of 65 instead of 60.

13 posts created for food analysis laboratory

The cabinet approved the establishment of a food analysis laboratory in Dehradun of Garhwal division under the Medical Health Department and creation of related posts. To strengthen the food safety ecosystem in the state, apart from Rudrapur, now 13 posts will be created for the food testing lab in Dehradun.

Eight posts for Food Safety on Wheels

Eight posts have been approved for the operation of Food Safety on Wheels, a mobile unit for testing food items. All these posts will be filled through outsourced posts. They will work to make common citizens aware and train them to test food items.
