Dehradun: Uttarakhand Police has been lauded for two significant achievements: securing the first position in the ICJS (Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System) 2.0 ranking and the commendable role of the Uttarakhand SDRF in the Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025. In the monthly ranking of ICJS, Uttarakhand Police has secured the top position in the country.
Uttarakhand Police has once again proven its leading role in digital policing and the modernization of the justice system. In the monthly ranking of the CCTNS/ICJS progress dashboard report published by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Uttarakhand Police has achieved the first position nationwide with its outstanding performance. This achievement is a result of the state police’s technical expertise, its ability to quickly adopt new systems, and the coordinated efforts of all districts in the state.
The Central Home Ministry has set a target of fully implementing ICJS 2.0 by 2026, under which states are required to integrate police, courts, prosecution, prisons, forensic, and fingerprint databases onto a single digital platform. Uttarakhand has made remarkable progress in this direction, completing the integration of most modules ahead of schedule.
In the currently released ICJS 2.0 ranking, Uttarakhand has received 93.46 points. In this ranking, Haryana secured the second position with 93.43 percent marks, and Assam secured the third position with 93.16 percent marks. Through the implementation of ICJS 2.0, its key modules have been successfully integrated in all districts, enabling case diaries, charge sheets, digital evidence, and judicial processes to be coordinated on a single digital platform. The training of police officers has accelerated investigation and prosecution work. Furthermore, under the concept of “One Data, One Entry,” robust coordination has been established between various systems including CCTNS, e-Courts, and e-Prisons. At the special request of the Uttar Pradesh government, a company of the Uttarakhand SDRF was deployed for Mahakumbh duty to ensure safe, orderly, and uninterrupted operations amidst the crowd of millions of devotees during the Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025. Under the leadership of the SDRF Commandant, a 112-member SDRF team performed exemplary duty with complete dedication, discipline, commitment, and promptness from January 24 to February 27 in water rescue, first aid, assistance to missing devotees, coordinated rescue operations, and other essential services in the Sangam Nose area and other highly sensitive areas.
For this service and commendable contribution displayed by the SDRF, the Uttar Pradesh government honored all the officers and personnel of SDRF Uttarakhand with medals and certificates of appreciation. On this achievement, the DGP congratulated all the officers and employees of the Uttarakhand Police, including the CCTNS team, and said that this success is the result of collective effort, technological innovation, and continuous monitoring.
He said that the effective implementation of ICJS 2.0 will make the investigation process more transparent, time-bound, and evidence-based, which will give new momentum to the justice system. The Uttarakhand Police is paying special attention to the extensive use of the advanced modules of ICJS 2.0, which will further strengthen the digital justice system in the state. The DGP also extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the officers and personnel of the SDRF for the excellent, disciplined, and dedicated services displayed by the Uttarakhand SDRF during the Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025.
