Uttarakhand Police Lays Out Roadmap for the New Year, Focuses on Cybersecurity and a Drug-Free Devbhoomi

Dehradun: A high-level review meeting was held under the chairmanship of the DGP to finalize the roadmap for the Uttarakhand Police for the year 2026.  The meeting focused on internal security, cybersecurity, and the mission of a drug-free Devbhoomi. Emphasis was also placed on prioritizing police welfare, promotions, and training, effective use of e-office, and timely decision-making processes. DGP Deepam Seth discussed in detail the necessary steps to ensure efficiency, transparency, and timeliness in the functioning of all branches of the Police Headquarters regarding the priorities set for the Uttarakhand Police for the upcoming year.

In compliance with the instructions given by the Union Home Minister during the Anti-Terror Conference-2025, instructions were given to give special priority to cyber surveillance and cyber intelligence in view of the state’s internal security. Special emphasis was placed on the reorganization of the ATS, ANTF, and Traffic Directorate. In line with the instructions given by the Union Home Minister at the Anti-Terror Conference-2025 regarding uniformity in the structure of the ATS, and to realize the Chief Minister’s vision of a drug-free Uttarakhand, instructions were given to further strengthen the ANTF this year.

A high-level meeting of senior police officers of the state will soon be held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister. In this meeting, the agenda points of the DGP-IGP Conference-2025 will be reviewed, and their effective implementation and future police strategy will be finalized. Special emphasis was placed on making the 1930 helpline more effective for the speedy resolution of cybercrime complaints and on its better and technologically robust coordination with the 112 emergency system. At the headquarters level, all officers will immediately submit concrete and time-bound action plans in line with the proposals, priorities, and objectives of their respective sections.  Furthermore, budget, procurement, and other financial matters should be resolved quickly and efficiently before the end of the financial year (March 31). Instructions were given for the speedy disposal of pending files and proposals pending at the government level to prevent unnecessary delays in administrative work.

The Chief Minister’s vision of simplification, resolution, and disposal was emphasized, along with instructions to adopt a time-bound decision-making process to eliminate unnecessary delays in file processing. Special emphasis was placed on the movement of files through the e-office and e-file system to expedite file processing and enhance transparency in all sections. Effective advocacy at the government level was undertaken for the proposed Centre of Excellence for advanced and specialized training at PTC Narendra Nagar, and the decision was communicated.

All units were instructed to fill out ACRs (Annual Confidential Reports) on time so that eligible police personnel can receive timely benefits for their welfare, promotions, medals, commendations, and other motivational awards. DGP Deepam Seth stated that instructions have been given to promote the Uttarakhand Police song. This song beautifully expresses the state’s cultural identity, the police’s dedication to duty, and their spirit of service. It should be played compulsorily at all major police events, parades, convocation ceremonies, foundation days, training programs, and official functions to further strengthen the morale of the force and the spirit of the state.
