Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government is emphasizing on improving the health facilities in the state. So that the patients coming to the hospitals can be given the benefit of better health facilities. In such a situation, the state government has taken another step and decided to build a rest house to provide accommodation facilities to the attendants accompanying the patients. In the first phase, both the medical colleges have signed an MoU with Sevadaan Arogya Sanstha for building rest rooms in Dehradun and Haldwani Medical College.
In the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, an MoU was signed with the institution to build rest houses for the attendants in Government Medical College Haldwani and Dehradun. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the state government is constantly making efforts to improve health facilities. The construction of rest houses for the attendants in these medical colleges will be a great facility for the people. The problem of night rest and stay will be solved for the family members accompanying the admitted patients.
CM Dhami asked Sevadan Arogya Sanstha to make this arrangement at AIIMS Satellite Center in Kichha as well. To which the institution has agreed. Under this MoU, Sevadan Arogya Foundation will build rest houses for the attendants in Government Medical College Haldwani and Dehradun. Rest houses with a capacity of 350 beds will be constructed in both the medical colleges. In these rest houses (night shelters), dormitories will be provided at the rate of Rs 55 per bed and two-bed rooms at the rate of Rs 300 per room for night stay. Also, breakfast will be provided for Rs 20 and food for Rs 35.
These rest houses will be operated and maintained by Sewadan Arogya Foundation. 1750 square meters of land has been provided by Government Medical College Dehradun and 1400 square meters of land has been provided by Government Medical College Haldwani for the construction of rest houses. Under this MoU, it will be operated by Sewadan Arogya Foundation for the next 20 years.
