After seeing the report, the Chief Secretary assured that efforts will be made to implement the suggestions of the Foundation.
On Tuesday, SDC Foundation President Anoop Nautiyal met Chief Secretary Radha Raturi at the Secretariat and submitted the report. According to the report on the challenges and possibilities of the Yatra, last year the Yatra lasted for 192 days, in which 48,11,279 pilgrims visited Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri and Hemkund Sahib.
Confidence to implement suggestions
19,60,483 or 41 percent pilgrims reached Chardham within one month of the start of the Yatra, while 28,50,796 (59 percent) pilgrims visited in the remaining five months of the Yatra. The Foundation gave suggestions for better travel management in the report. The second report is based on the results of Uttarakhand in the year 2023 of the Swachh Survey to be conducted at the national level.
In the report, 88 municipal bodies of the state included in the Swachh Survey 2023 have been analyzed on the basis of marks received in different works of cleanliness. The Chief Secretary appreciated both the reports. He assured to implement the suggestions to facilitate registration in the Chardham Yatra.
Anoop Nautiyal said, if the suggestions given regarding the Yatra are implemented in future, then the Yatra can be conducted in a much better way. Said, even in the case of Swachh Survey, the municipal bodies of Uttarakhand are performing poorly. This needs to be improved.
