Dehradun: Under the Chief Minister Single Women Self-Employment Scheme, destitute women of the state will be able to choose a business based on their choice. To give a subsidy of two lakhs, the government has not set any condition regarding the category of self-employment of the applicant woman.
The benefit of this will be available on first come, first serve basis in every district. The eligibility age limit has been fixed at a minimum of 21 and a maximum of 50 years.
State nodal officer of centrally funded schemes Aarti Balodi said that the most special thing about this scheme is that women interested in self-employment can take subsidy for the work in which they are skilled. The only condition is that there should be only 25 thousand rupees in their bank account, even if a loan has been taken for it. The rest of the amount will be released by the government as subsidy.
Conditions of application
Only those single women of Uttarakhand origin can apply, whose entire family’s total annual income does not exceed Rs 72,000. Only abandoned women selected by the Social Welfare Department will be eligible for the scheme. If they are not registered with the department, then the certificate issued by the village head will be valid. Apart from this, certificates issued by the MLA or MP will also be accepted, with an affidavit of the woman attached. New applications will be invited in every financial year.
The time limit of the process will also be ensured
The nodal officer said that interested and eligible women can obtain the application form through the District Program Officer working in their district when the notification is issued. The received application will be examined within a month. The proposals approved by the district level committee will be sent to the Directorate by the District Program Officer within a maximum of 15 days. The final approval will be given after the examination by the state level committee.
The scheme is set to be implemented in this financial year. After its government order, the budget is expected to be released in about two months. After that the application process will start in the entire district.
