Dehradun: Women of Self Help Group of Haldwani in Uttarakhand have sent a Rakhi made of silk thread for Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. These Rakhis made of silk are in great demand in many states of the country. Deputy Director of Silk Department Hemchandra said that due to this the women of the group are becoming self-reliant. Apart from the PM, these rakhis made of pure silk have been sent to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi.
Demand across the country
Hemchandra said that last year innovation was started in the state, in which many attractive products were made from silk. Such products were being made for the first time in the country. The women of the Mahila Self Help Group have succeeded in doing a business of more than 9 lakhs in just nine months. This time rakhis have been made on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. These attractive rakhis have reached not only in the state but also in other states of India. There is demand for this rakhi across the country.
Rakhi sent for PM Modi-CM Dhami
Rakhi has been sent to Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Rajasthan, Lucknow, Gujarat and Chandigarh. He told that the women of the self-help group associated with the Silk Department are sending silk rakhis to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Agriculture Minister on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. Women are becoming self-reliant by selling these rakhis.
Women are becoming financially strong
By making these rakhis, the women of the group have done a business of about 15 thousand in a few days. People are liking these rakhis, due to which the group is getting orders continuously. Kiran Joshi, President of Mahila Sahayata Samuh, says that the women of the group have been engaged in making rakhis for the last several months, through which the economic condition of women is getting stronger. The demand for this rakhi is coming from other states of the country. This rakhi is eco-friendly.
