Dhami government increases registration fees in Uttarakhand, now 50,000 rupees will be charged for each registration, order issued
Dehradun: The government has doubled the registration fee from 25,000 rupees. Now, 50,000 rupees will be charged for each registration. This is being considered a significant step towards increasing revenue. Previously, in 2015, the registration fee was increased from 10,000 rupees to 25,000 rupees.
Following the Finance Department’s orders on Monday, the Inspector General of Registration (IG Stamps) office also issued a letter to all districts regarding this matter. It’s worth noting that in Uttarakhand, a two percent registration fee is charged per registration, up to a maximum of 25,000 rupees. For example, if someone purchases land worth 10 lakh rupees, a registration fee of 20,000 rupees is charged accordingly.
However, for registrations up to 12.5 lakh rupees, the registration fee is 25,000 rupees at the rate of 2 percent. Furthermore, if the registration is for more than this amount, the fee is 25,000 rupees instead of 2 percent.
This means that no matter the maximum registration price, the registration fee is 25,000 rupees. Now, this fee has been increased to a maximum of 50,000 rupees. IG Stamps Sonika stated that the fee has been revised after 10 years. In Uttar Pradesh, the registration fee is 1 percent. Its maximum fee is 25,000 rupees.
