Uttarakhand: State not included in the second phase of SIR, Election Commission includes 12 states in the campaign

Dehradun: Uttarakhand is not included in the second phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). The Election Commission on Monday included 12 states, including Uttar Pradesh, in the SIR campaign. Preparations for the SIR have already begun in Uttarakhand by the Chief Electoral Officer’s office.

The 2003 voter list has also been released, based on which voter verification will be conducted. On Monday, the Chief Election Commissioner of India announced the second phase of SIR in 12 states. It is expected that the Special Intensive Revision will begin in Uttarakhand, along with Himachal Pradesh and other states, in April next year.

For this, all voters will receive a form, which they must fill out and submit to the BLO. Those who fail to submit the form will be issued a notice. They will be given a hearing at the SDM level, after which their vote may be cancelled. However, in the context of Uttarakhand, action will be taken as per the announcement made by the Election Commission.
