Dehradun: While the issue of surrendering three Finance Service officers was still ongoing at the Uttarakhand Secretariat, the surrender of another employee has escalated the controversy. The Secretariat Association has expressed displeasure over such actions and has signaled a decisive fight.
The issue of continued surrender of Secretariat Service officers in the Uttarakhand Secretariat is now gaining momentum. Following the surrender of three Finance Service officers to the department recently, the surrender of another Secretariat Service officer has sparked anger among employees. Secretariat Service officers and employees have openly protested, calling this action unjustified.
According to the Secretariat Association, incidents of removal and surrender of Secretariat Service officers from their sections have increased in recent times. This has led to disagreements between the Secretariat Service Association and All India Service officers posted in the Secretariat. The union alleges that officers are being removed without a valid reason, leading to growing dissatisfaction among employees.
The Secretariat Services Union has expressed deep concern over this issue by sending a letter to the Chief Secretary. The union also met with the Finance Secretary and demanded a reconsideration of the decision to remove three officers from their section. The union says that if this attitude continues, Secretariat Service employees will be forced to resort to agitation.
Secretariat Union General Secretary Rakesh Joshi stated that the surrender of Secretariat Service officers without any clear reason is neither justifiable nor administratively correct. He stated that discussions have been held at the appropriate level on this matter, but if Secretary-level officers continue to take similar actions in the future, the union will launch a phased agitation.
This growing tension in the State Secretariat has created a stir in administrative circles. Experts believe that if this dispute is not resolved soon, it could adversely affect the functioning of the Secretariat.
In fact, just a day earlier, Under Secretary Satyendra Burman, Section Officer Arvind Singh, and Kamal Kumar, who were responsible for Finance Sections 4 and 10 within the Finance Department, were removed. Now, Review Officer Shubham, also in the Health Department, has been removed for late arrivals and negligence in his work. Meanwhile, an attempt was made to contact Secretariat Administration Secretary Deependra Chaudhary over the phone regarding this matter, but he did not answer the call.
