Dehradun: Along with qualitative improvement in the education system, the education system should be made student-centric. Along with qualitative education, special attention should also be paid to moral education. Residential hostels should be promoted more to encourage girl education and reduce the drop out of girls from schools. The burden of children’s school bags should be reduced. On the bag-free day in the week, students should be provided education based on morality. The Chief Minister gave these instructions to the officials during the review of school education in the Secretariat. During the review, the Secretary of Education gave information about the various difficulties being faced in the transfer of teachers and the policy being made to simplify the transfer process in the Education Department.
The Chief Minister said that special attention should be paid to vocational based education in secondary education. It should be ensured that there is adequate arrangement of furniture in all schools. Solar panels should be arranged in schools wherever possible. The Chief Minister said that the policy being made by the Education Department for the simplification of transfer should be fully tested at the level of the Personnel Department. The decision which will be right in the interest of the state will be taken. The Chief Minister directed that such arrangements should be made to improve the quality of education in government schools, so that parents are themselves motivated to get their children admitted in government schools. The Chief Minister said that rapid efforts should be made for the full implementation of the National Education Policy -2020 in the state. Special attention should be given to smart and virtual classes. He said that under the Chief Minister Gauravshali Bharat Yatra Yojana being run in the state to promote innovation in the field of education, the system of taking meritorious students and excellent teachers on a tour to prestigious scientific and technical institutions should be implemented effectively. Under the Student Educational Tour Scheme, 50 meritorious students from each development block will be sent on India tour. In which 50 percent will be girl students. He said that under the Chief Minister Vidyarthi Uphaar Yojana, free notebooks should be provided to students from class 01 to 12. The Chief Minister has directed to pay special attention to the establishment of cluster and PM Shri schools to provide all physical and human resources in schools, technical and digital education, residential hostels, vocational courses and transport facilities. The Chief Minister directed that under our heritage, maximum information should be made available to the students by incorporating the history of the movement of Uttarakhand, various dimensions of folk culture, Indian knowledge tradition values and culture and locality.
