Uttarakhand: There will be no shortage of money for repair and reconstruction during monsoon, CM Dhami released funds to all District Magistrates

Dehradun: Continuous rain has been continuing in Uttarakhand since the onset of monsoon. Due to rain, landslides in the state, especially in the mountainous region, cause major damage to roads, drinking water pipes, electricity poles etc. In such a situation, in view of the monsoon season 2024, the government has approved an amount of Rs 10 crore each to all the district officials for the repair and reconstruction work to be done under the State Disaster Relief Fund. Also, the CM has directed Vinod Kumar Suman, Secretary, Disaster Management Department, to invite funds to the districts as soon as possible.

CM Dhami has instructed all the District Magistrates of the state in this regard that the assets damaged by the disaster should be rebuilt as soon as possible with the funds sanctioned under the repair and construction head. In fact, in view of the monsoon season, a few days ago, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had held a meeting with the concerned departmental officials and directed that the works to be done under the disaster should be done on priority basis. Also, whatever amount is required for the repair and reconstruction work of the assets damaged due to the disaster, it should be released immediately to all the districts.

In this sequence, the Uttarakhand government on Thursday approved Rs 130 crore for the repair and reconstruction work of damaged assets from the State Disaster Relief Fund. At the same time, the CM has said that the government is fully prepared to deal with disasters. All the departments are well prepared for this. The public should face minimum problems due to the disaster. The government is working in this direction. There will be no shortage of funds for repair and reconstruction work. Along with this, the CM instructed the officials to pay special attention to ensure that the public does not face any problem of electricity, water, food grains, medical etc. during the monsoon season.
