Dehradun: Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers decided the new executive under the banner of IFS organization on February 15. Some new faces have been included in it. The special thing is that many IFS officers kept distance from this meeting. Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal was also present in the IFS meet. In front of him, the IFS officers also put forward some practical things.

The new executive of the IFS organization has been formed in Uttarakhand. The IFS organization unanimously declared PCCF Kapil Lal as the President. Earlier also PCCF Kapil Lal was looking after this post. The members of the organization have given him the responsibility of the post of President again. APCCF Meenakshi Joshi has been given the responsibility for the post of Vice President. Earlier this responsibility was being looked after by APCCF Nishant Verma. But now Meenakshi Joshi has been elected unanimously. Similarly, CF Dharm Singh Meena has been given the responsibility of the post of General Secretary. Earlier, Rajiv Dhiman was handling the post of General Secretary. Mussoorie DFO Amit Kanwar has been re-elected as the Treasurer of the IFS Association. Earlier also, he held the post of Treasurer.

During the IFS meet, while the records of the entire year were presented before the members of the organization, the process of the new executive was also completed. During this time, Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal also reached the IFS meet. He asked the officers to cooperate in every way and also gave the message to do their work with full dedication.

The absence of many officers in the IFS meet was also a matter of concern

During the IFS meet, many IFS officers were absent from the meeting. Even many IFS officers posted in the Forest Headquarters did not reach this meeting. Obviously, this should be a matter of concern for the IFS organization. However, there is a possibility of many officers not reaching due to their being busy in important work. But more than 30 percent of the total cadre of IFS officers in Uttarakhand did not appear in this meeting.

In fact, in the past too, there has been a tussle between the officers on various matters. In such a situation, there have been discussions about the role of the organization. However, apart from all this, it is also expected that the IFS organization will communicate with the officers who kept away from the meeting.

The number of IFS in the state is around 67. Out of which eight officers are currently out on deputation. In this way, there are about 59 IFS officers in the state. Out of which about 32 IFS officers participated in this meeting. In this way, about 27 IFS officers did not reach this meeting. In such a situation, the absence of such a large number of officers in the IFS meet is a matter of great concern for the organization.
