Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government has given a big update regarding the Uniform Civil Code. Now the marriage registration of such people will not be canceled, who were minors at the time of marriage or if either of the couple was a minor. The Uttarakhand government has clarified that if both have become adults at the time of registration, then their registration will not be canceled. The Chief Secretary has stressed on this issue and said that such marriage cases should also be registered.
In fact, a meeting of various departments was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan. During this, information was also taken about the progress of Uniform Civil Code (UCC) registration in all the districts. During this, the Chief Secretary emphasized on getting the marriage registered under UCC. For this, instructions were also given to run awareness programs in all the districts, so that more and more people get their marriage registered.
Along with this, the Chief Secretary has also asked to dispose of the pending cases of registration expeditiously. The Chief Secretary has also given instructions to conduct special campaigns for registration in the plain districts. Along with this, the Chief Secretary has instructed all the District Magistrates to listen to the problems of the common people and pay special attention to their resolution.
He has instructed the departments to immediately get the work of repairing the crooked electric poles, hanging wires and broken drinking water pipelines done. Unless the officers come to the field, they will not be aware of the problems of the common people. He has instructed all the officers to visit the field regularly.
