Uttarakhand will soon receive ₹680 crore in aid from the World Bank, CM Dhami said, “The economy will be strengthened.”

Dehradun: Uttarakhand, which has been constantly grappling with disasters, has received a major relief. A major step has been taken towards making Uttarakhand’s financial system more modern and accountable. Under this initiative, the Government of India has recommended the state’s ambitious project, Strengthening Public Financial Management for Improved Service Delivery in Uttarakhand, to the World Bank. The state is expected to receive approximately ₹680 crore (approximately US$80 million) in aid under this project.

World Bank assistance: The Uttarakhand government received information today that the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, has forwarded this proposal to the World Bank India Office (New Delhi) for consideration. The project aims to further strengthen financial transparency, accountability, and the quality of service delivery in the state.

Under the project, the Uttarakhand government will utilize technology more extensively in financial management, budgeting, expenditure control, accounting systems, and departmental transparency. This will accelerate the implementation of government schemes. Additionally, services will reach the public in a timely manner. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his happiness over this financial arrangement.

What CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said: CM Dhami stated that this is a major step towards financial reform and good governance in Uttarakhand. “Our government is constantly striving to ensure that every government dollar is spent with transparency and responsibility in the public interest. This World Bank assistance will make the state’s financial system digital and result-oriented.”

CM Dhami further stated that after the project is implemented, there will be significant improvements in fiscal discipline, data transparency, and the quality of service delivery. According to Finance Department officials, this project will fundamentally reform Uttarakhand’s public financial system.

This will help establish the state as a financially strong, transparent, and accountable government. This initiative, supported by the Government of India and the World Bank, will reshape the state’s financial administration and ensure the swift, accurate, and transparent delivery of government services to citizens. At the same time, it is expected that this financial assistance will bring significant improvement in the financial condition of the state.
