Dehradun: Keeping in mind the interests of the women of Uttarakhand state, the Uttarakhand government is going to implement the women policy to make them more empowered. The proposal of Uttarakhand State Women Policy 2024 has almost been prepared by the Department of Women Empowerment and Child Development.
On Tuesday, a final meeting was held in the Assembly with the departmental officials regarding the Uttarakhand State Women Policy under the chairmanship of Women Empowerment Minister Rekha Arya. During the meeting, it was decided to make some changes in the policy and present a proposal related to women policy in the upcoming cabinet.
Three chapters in women policy
The draft of Uttarakhand State Women Policy has been prepared by the Department of Women and Empowerment, State Women Commission and Planning Department. In such a situation, on State Foundation Day i.e. 9 November, this policy will be dedicated to the women of the state. There are three chapters in the Women’s Policy which include introduction, policy provisions in the main area and framework for operation. The women’s policy has been prepared keeping in mind the interests of the girl child from birth to her youth as well as death after old age. So that women can be further empowered.

At the same time, Minister Rekha Arya said that the State Uttarakhand Women’s Policy 2024 is being prepared to further protect the interests of women residing in the mountainous and plain areas of the state of Uttarakhand. Which will be dedicated to the women of the state on the State Foundation Day on 9th November. He said that the objective of creating the Uttarakhand State Women’s Policy is to ensure equal participation of women and men in the development of the state of Uttarakhand. The participation of women should be equal to that of men in every field like social, economic, political etc.
