Uttarakhand: Wrong condition of UCC going viral on CM letterpad, Information Department said FAKE, action will be taken against those who share it

Dehradun: After the implementation of Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand, there are still many misconceptions among the people. Meanwhile, some information related to UCC is being propagated on social media. This information is going viral on social media with the letter pad of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and his photo. In which it is said that for marriage after the date of implementation of Uniform Civil Code i.e. 27 January 2025, a certificate will have to be taken from the religious leaders, which has been made mandatory for marriage registration.

Letter with wrong information went viral on social media

The letter going viral on social media is being propagated with eight points on the letter pad of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, calling it “mandatory necessary information”.

In which all the information related to marriage has been mentioned. Whereas in reality, the certificate of religious leaders has not been made mandatory in the Uniform Civil Code. However, in some cases, it has been said to take certificates from religious leaders. But there is no need for certificates from religious leaders in any normal marriage.

The Department of Information and Public Relations has become alert about this letter which is going viral on social media. On the letter going viral on social media, DIPR Uttarakhand has called it fake and has emphasized that this post put on social media in the name of the Chief Minister is fake. Information has been given on X by DIPR that-

‘This post put on social media in the name of the Chief Minister is fake. Using the name of the Chief Minister in this way is a legal offense. This matter is being investigated seriously. Strict legal action will be taken against whoever has done this act. Also, legal action will be taken against anyone who shares this fake post.’
