Dehradun: Preparations are in full swing for Uttarakhand Statehood Day, November 9th. The state of Uttarakhand will complete 25 years on November 9th. This is why the Uttarakhand government is celebrating this entire year as its Silver Jubilee year. During a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday, October 13th, the Legislative Department proposed holding a special session. The Cabinet approved it. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also been authorized to determine the dates.
The monsoon session concluded in Uttarakhand in August. Consequently, the state government has decided to convene a special session to mark the upcoming Silver Jubilee year. While the monsoon session was held in Gairsain, Uttarakhand’s summer capital, the special session to commemorate the Silver Jubilee year will be held in Dehradun.
It is expected that this special session will be held on November 3rd and 4th. However, the cabinet has authorized Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to determine the dates. The dates for the special session will be announced after CM Dhami’s decision.
In fact, the opposition was also demanding discussion on various issues during the monsoon session. Despite this, the Assembly monsoon session was adjourned indefinitely after the presentation of the supplementary budget. However, the opposition party, Congress, created a lot of uproar over this issue. Consequently, the Uttarakhand government has decided to convene a special session. This session will discuss in detail various important issues, including the development work done since the formation of Uttarakhand, future challenges, and the government’s roadmap for the future.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that this is Uttarakhand’s silver jubilee year. The state has progressed through many ups and downs over the past several years. All the experiences and development during this period have been a long journey. All these will be discussed in the Assembly after the state’s establishment. Consequently, a decision has been made to convene a special session, the dates of which will be announced soon.
