Dehradun/Haldwani/Luxor: Uttarakhand’s tableau showcased the various forms of nature, culture, and progress of the Devbhoomi Devbhoomi in the Unity Parade held in front of the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Gujarat. While inspecting the tableaux in the Unity Parade, PM Narendra Modi applauded the Uttarakhand tableau and the performances of the folk artists.
Uttarakhand’s tableau was displayed in the Unity Parade in front of the Statue of Unity: In the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a national-level main event was held in front of the Statue of Unity to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. Uttarakhand, along with eight other selected states, had the opportunity to showcase its tableau in this event.
The tableau’s theme was “Eight Elements and Unity”: Based on the theme of “Eight Elements and Unity,” Uttarakhand’s tableau showcased the state’s religious sites, natural beauty, cultural richness, and various dimensions of development in the Unity Parade. Led by the Joint Director of the Information Department, a team of folk artists from the state also performed traditional dances to the tunes of folk songs alongside the Uttarakhand tableau.
K.S. Chauhan, nodal officer for the Uttarakhand tableau and Joint Director of the Information Department, stated that the state’s performance in the Unity Parade received considerable appreciation from the audience. A 14-member team of folk artists performed Uttarakhand’s traditional folk dances in the Unity Parade. For this, the state team conducted a full dress rehearsal on Wednesday at the Ekta Parade in front of the Statue of Unity. “Uttarakhand has the honor of participating in the main national-level function organized in front of the Statue of Unity on the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. After extensive deliberations and evaluation, the expert committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, finally selected Uttarakhand’s tableau along with those of eight selected states of the country.” – Banshidhar Tiwari, Director General, Uttarakhand Information Department

Congressmen in Haldwani remembered Sardar Patel’s contribution to nation-building: A tribute meeting was organized at the Haldwani Congress office, Swaraj Bhavan, to commemorate the birth anniversary of India’s Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and the death anniversary of the country’s first woman Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. During the meeting, speakers said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel laid the foundation of modern India by uniting the princely states of independent India.
