Dehradun: The Department of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of Uttarakhand, in collaboration with the WISH (Wadhwani Initiative for Sustainable Healthcare), announces the launch of “eSwasthya Dham,” a pioneering initiative aimed at enhancing healthcare and monitoring systems for pilgrims undertaking the sacred Char Dham Yatra. The web app is now live

“eSwasthyaDham” is a dedicated web app meticulously designed to monitor the health status of pilgrims throughout their journey. Integrated seamlessly with the existing Char Dham Registration Portal on the tourism site, this platform enables pilgrims to access their medical records conveniently via their ABHA ID, ensuring easy retrieval of essential health information.

Enroute the Yatra the pilgrims will, encounter screening points strategically managed by WISH and the HANS Foundation. Here, they can undergo health assessments, with the results promptly updated on the web app. Pilgrims themselves can access this vital information, ensuring transparency and empowering them to make informed decisions about their health. This innovative health web app underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to health and wellbeing of pilgrims during pilgrimage season. It exemplifies our dedication to safeguarding the well-being of pilgrims by implementing vigilant surveillance and intervention strategies to mitigate health risks, thus ensuring a seamless journey for all the pilgrims embarking on the Yatra.

For uninterrupted access to vital health information, the web app will undergo continuous updates, minimizing the risk of technical glitches. Pilgrims are encouraged to enroll by visiting “https://eswasthyadham.uk.gov.in”.

In addition to the web app, our initiative encompasses the creation of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) advisories. These advisories aim to educate pilgrims about potential health risks, preventive measures, and the importance of seeking timely medical assistance when necessary. By disseminating crucial information through IEC advisories, we seek to empower pilgrims with the knowledge required to safeguard their health during the yatra.

Furthermore, in a collaborative effort between the Uttarakhand Health Department and WISH (Wadhwani Initiative for Sustainable Healthcare), comprehensive training will be provided to all healthcare providers deployed along the Char Dham route. This training is designed to enhance their skills in emergency care, ensuring they are well- prepared to respond effectively to any medical situations that may arise during the Char Dham Yatra.
