Dehradun: Chief Secretary Radha Raturi participated in the video conferencing held regarding the preparations for the fourth Chief Secretary Conference chaired by the Cabinet Secretary, Government of India and the implementation of Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi said that for the effective and successful operation of Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan, the officers have been instructed to run a large scale cleanliness campaign in public and commercial places, offices, institutions, roads, highways, markets, trekking and camping places and other tourist and religious places with public participation, awareness, advocacy across the state, as well as set up single window camps for health checkup and social security coverage for Safai Mitras. Along with this, instructions have also been given to ensure the participation of self-help groups and NGOs.
She said that to solve the problem of debris on the Chardham routes, instructions have been given to identify suitable places for dumping zones on the Chardham route. Along with this, the Secretary of Drinking Water and District Magistrates have been instructed to ensure inspection and investigation of all STPs. All DMs were also instructed to ensure a solid system of connecting all STPs to the drainage system. Instructing to work sensitively on the issue of social security and insurance of Safai Mitras, the District Magistrates were instructed to increase their access to social security by organizing single window camps on a large scale for Safai Mitras during the Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan and connect them with welfare schemes. The Health Department has been instructed to organize health camps for Safai Mitras and provide information about health and medical services, investigation and treatment as well as welfare schemes of all other related departments. The Chief Secretary said that a review meeting will be held with all the officials for the best preparation of the upcoming Chief Secretary Conference and suggestions will also be taken from young field officers. Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, Shailesh Bagauli and officials of various departments were present in the meeting.
