Dehradun: Amidst the preparations for the 38th National Games, there is a tremendous craze to become a volunteer. From college students to retired army officers, everyone is in line to become a volunteer. Not only this, registrations are also being done from other states outside Uttarakhand. The situation is that the registration figure is about to reach ten thousand. However, the department needs two to two and a half thousand volunteers. After the launch of the mascot and other symbols of the National Games, registration has increased.
According to Amit Sinha, Chief Executive Officer of the National Games Secretariat, everyone’s cooperation is being taken for a big event like the National Games. The process of volunteer registration is currently in motion. Volunteers will play an important role in the successful organization of the National Games. Additional Chief Executive Officer Prashant Arya said that many retired officers have also registered expressing their desire to become volunteers. Apart from this, registrations are also being done from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and other states.
This is how you can become a National Games volunteer
If you want to play your role as a volunteer in the National Games, then first of all you have to register yourself. You can register on the Sports Department’s website 38nguk.in. It is necessary that your age is 18 years or more. After registration, the selection process will proceed on the basis of the information given at your level. While registering, you will get two options of categories. One of these will be an option indicating sports background, while the other option will be general.
Whether you become a volunteer or not, you will get a certificate
After registering for the National Games volunteer, you will be entitled to receive a certificate from the department. This will be an e-certificate, which will be given to everyone who registers. Those selected as volunteers will get a separate certificate of National Games 2025. The selected volunteers will be given necessary training at the department level. After this, they will be deployed at different places as per the need. Volunteers will assist in all the arrangements from sports events to parking, bringing and taking guests.
Request to extend the last date of registration
The last date for registration for the National Games has been fixed as 25 December 2024, but the Higher Education Department has requested to extend the date. The Sports Department has not taken any decision on this yet. The Sports Department wants to complete the process of selection of volunteers by the first or second week of January, so that the training and deployment related work can be finalized accordingly.
The National Games is not organized by any department, but it is of the whole of Uttarakhand. With the cooperation of all, Uttarakhand will organize a grand National Games.
