Dehradun: There is still doubt on when the Uniform Civil Code will be implemented in Uttarakhand. The government had earlier claimed that the Uniform Civil Code of Uttarakhand will be implemented on the day of Uttarakhand State Foundation Day on November 9. But at present it seems difficult to happen.
In fact, during the press conference, when Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was questioned about the implementation of UCC, he said that the government had earlier fixed the date of implementation of UCC on Uttarakhand State Foundation Day, November 9. But the people working on it, including Shatrughan Singh who is the chairman of the committee, apart from him many officers are also members of this committee. Everyone is trying. It is hoped that UCC will be implemented as soon as possible.
Regarding the doubt over the implementation of UCC on November 9, CM Dhami said that the provisions being prepared to implement the Uniform Civil Code are taking time. Although the work of the constituted committee is in the final stage, but the constituted committee is likely to take more time to complete the work related to the implementation of UCC.
In such a situation, there is little hope of implementation of Uniform Civil Code on State Foundation Day. However, its decision will be clear only after the meeting of the committee to be held under the chairmanship of CM Dhami in the first week of October. On the question of implementing UCC, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the deadline of 9 November 2024 was fixed for implementing the Uniform Civil Code in the state of Uttarakhand, but the Rules Making and Implementation Committee constituted to implement the Uniform Civil Code in the state is working continuously.
Also said that many provisions have to be made to implement the Uniform Civil Code in the state. However, the constituted committee had earlier said that UCC would be implemented in the state by November 9. In such a situation, a meeting is to be held in the first week of October regarding the Uniform Civil Code. After the meeting, the situation regarding when the Uniform Civil Code will be implemented in the state will become clear.
