Dehradun: The doors of the world famous Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham were opened for devotees on the auspicious festival of Akshaya Tritiya. Now Gangotri Dham will be able to see Mother Ganga for six months continuously. The doors of Gangotri Dham were opened for the devotees to see at the Abhijeet Muhurta of 10.30 am on Wednesday. The first puja was done in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On the occasion of the opening of the doors, the entire Gangotri Dham reverberated with the chants of Mother Ganga. On this occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Gangotri Dham and had darshan of Mother Ganga. As soon as the doors of Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham opened, the Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand has become Shri Ganesh.
On Wednesday, on the occasion of opening of the gates, devotees from different states of the country reached Gangotri Dham to have darshan of Maa Ganga. Here the devotees earned virtue by having darshan of the idol of Maa Ganga. On this occasion, the Gangotri temple premises were decorated with about 15 quintals of flowers. Now devotees will be able to have darshan of Maa Ganga in Gangotri Dham for six months.
Anti-terrorism squad will be deployed at ten places
Extensive arrangements have been made for the security of the pilgrims. Anti-terrorism squad, paramilitary forces and police personnel will keep an eye on every inch. For the security of the pilgrims, 10 companies of paramilitary, 17 companies of PAC as well as anti-terrorism squad will be deployed at 10 places. SDRF teams will be deployed at 65 places. For the security of the pilgrims, 10 companies of paramilitary force are being provided by the central government, which will be available soon. At the same time, 17 companies of PAC and six thousand policemen have been deployed in the Chardham Yatra. The entire Yatra route will be covered by drones. Security and traffic on the Yatra route will be monitored through 2000 CCTV cameras. Feed is coming to the control room from different areas.
