Youth reaches Mussoorie for IAS training with fake UPSC results; creates a stir at the academy; police launch investigation

Dehradun: The LBS administration in Mussoorie informed the Mussoorie police station on Saturday that a young man had arrived at the institute for training based on a fake UPSC result. Upon receiving the information, a senior sub-inspector from the Mussoorie police station, along with police personnel, reached the spot. Considering the sensitivity of the matter, the SIU Mussoorie and IB team were also called to the scene.

He himself turned out to be a victim of fraud

The police questioned the young man and examined the documents he presented. The preliminary investigation revealed that the young man had arrived at LBS for training based on a fake UPSC result and that he was a victim of fraud. The young man had come to Mussoorie with his parents and necessary belongings.

The young man was brought to the police station

The young man was brought to the Mussoorie police station for necessary questioning. During questioning at the police station, it was learned that the young man is highly educated and currently works in a private company. The investigation revealed that Pushpendra Singh, son of Rakesh Kumar Singh, received Rs. 13,000 in cash and Rs. 14,564 through UPI from a young man in the name of selection in the UPSC examination. After this, a fake UPSC result was sent via WhatsApp.

Case registered

A case has been registered at Mussoorie Police Station under FIR No. (Zero) 00/2026, Section 318(4) BNS. The case will be sent to the concerned state for further investigation.
