Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami accepted lifetime membership of the Indian Red Cross Society. On this occasion, the State Managing Committee of the Indian Red Cross Society, led by General Secretary J.N. Nautiyal and Chairman Omkar Bahuguna, paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Dhami at the Chief Minister’s residence.
Chief Minister Dhami appreciated the work being done by the Red Cross Society in the fields of humanitarian service, disaster management, health services, and social welfare. He said that the role of the Red Cross in providing quick assistance to the needy in difficult circumstances is extremely important and exemplary. The Chief Minister emphasized making the activities of the Red Cross in the state more comprehensive, strong, and effective, and assured all possible cooperation from the state government.
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is a disaster-prone state, and therefore, strengthening humanitarian service activities in coordination with organizations like the Red Cross is a priority for the government. He also called upon more and more people to join these service activities.
Former Treasurer of the Indian Red Cross Society’s Managing Committee, Satish Pingal, and Red Cross Brand Ambassador Manish Kasniyal were also present on this occasion.
