Almora: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the famous pilgrimage site Jageshwar Dham and offered prayers. He also prayed for the state’s happiness, peace, and prosperity. During the ceremony, CM Dhami said, “Jageshwar is the center of our faith and belief; it will be given a grand and divine look.”
On this occasion, Chief Minister Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for six development projects approved and constructed at a cost of ₹76.78 crore. The projects inaugurated include the improvement of the Danya to Ara Salpad motor road, the improvement of the Chaykhan to Thuasimal motor road, and the construction of a 33/11 KV substation in Satyaon. In this sequence, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for the construction of non-residential buildings at Government Polytechnics Salt and Danya, and the mechanical building at Government Polytechnic Dwarahat.
Upon reaching Jageshwar Dham, the Chief Minister inspected the campus on foot and conducted a detailed review of the Jageshwar Dham Master Plan. He directed officials to ensure that all development works are completed within the stipulated timeframe and in a quality manner. He stated that considering the increasing number of devotees, strengthening the Dham’s infrastructure is essential.
The Chief Minister directed the District Magistrate to ensure regular monitoring of the works related to the Master Plan and to ensure their completion within the stipulated timeline. He also directed regular maintenance to maintain the condition of the roads. He urged that Vriddha Jageshwar should be developed on a par with Jageshwar Dham, as both sites have deep mythological and cultural significance.
Chief Minister Dhami stated that the state government’s goal is to achieve global recognition for Jageshwar Dham, not only from a spiritual perspective, but also from a tourism and cultural perspective. He said the overall development of the shrine will create new employment and economic empowerment opportunities for local people. District Magistrate Anshul Singh, Chief Development Officer Ramjisharan Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police Devendra Pincha, Sub-District Magistrate Sanjay Kumar, Tehsildar Barkha Jalal, and other officials were present at the event.
