Dehradun: A tragic incident occurred due to stampede on the footpath of Mansa Devi temple in Haridwar district at around 9 am on Sunday. So far, the death of 06 devotees has been confirmed in this heart-wrenching accident, while 28 other devotees have been injured.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed deep condolences on this accident. Expressing his condolences to the families of the deceased devotees, he said that in this hour of grief, the state government is fully standing with the affected families. The Chief Minister has announced a relief amount of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the injured.
The Honorable Chief Minister has directed the District Magistrate Haridwar to provide immediate relief and assistance to all the victims and their families. Along with this, he has also given instructions for a magisterial inquiry into the incident. He has directed Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman to thoroughly review the crowd management, security arrangements, and arrangements for the travel routes to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.
Immediate medical facility to the injured
Dehradun. Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman, while giving information, said that immediate medical assistance has been provided to the devotees injured in this incident. 05 seriously injured devotees have been immediately referred to AIIMS, Rishikesh. The remaining 23 injured are being treated at the District Hospital, Haridwar. Health department teams are providing every possible medical facility to the injured. The Honorable Chief Minister is keeping an eye on the situation and he is constantly being informed about the rescue and rescue operation.

Dehradun. As soon as the information about the incident was received, joint teams of district administration, SDRF, NDRF, local police, health department and other emergency services immediately reached the spot and the rescue operation was conducted at a fast pace. Commissioner Garhwal Vinay Shankar Pandey, IG Garhwal Rajiv Swaroop, District Magistrate Haridwar Mayur Dixit and SSP Pramod Dobal reached the spot and monitored the relief and rescue operations and enquired about the condition of the injured in the hospital. Commissioner Garhwal Vinay Shankar Pandey said that the best possible treatment is being given to the injured. Concrete steps will be taken to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.
At the same time, the Honorable Chief Minister has given clear instructions that crowd control plan, CCTV surveillance system, direction indicator boards, emergency evacuation plan on footpaths and local administrative coordination should be made more effective at all major religious places of the state including Mansa Devi.
