Dehradun: The Union Home Ministry has accepted the resignation of Rachita Juyal, an Indian Police Service officer in Uttarakhand. She will soon be relieved from government duties. Meanwhile, suspense remains over the voluntary retirement application of IAS officer BVRC Purushottam.
Recently, two officers in the state have submitted applications for voluntary retirement from their services. The first was IAS officer BVRC Purushottam, and the second was IPS officer Rachita Juyal. The latest news is that after a long time, Rachita Juyal’s resignation has finally been accepted after completing all the formalities.
Rachita Juyal is a 2015 IPS officer who had expressed her desire for voluntary retirement. The Union Home Ministry has now accepted her application and granted her resignation. Rachita had applied for VRS in June, about three months ago. Currently, IPS Rachita Juyal is holding the responsibility of SP Vigilance.
Notably, the investigation into the Haridwar Municipal Corporation land scam is also underway under her supervision, and Vigilance is also tracing the money trail in this land scam. Following Rachita’s resignation, the investigation will now be conducted under the supervision of CO Vigilance Harshvardhan Suman. Although Harshvardhan was previously handling the investigation, the entire investigation will now rest with her.
On the other hand, the voluntary retirement of IAS officer BVRC Purushottam was also much discussed. This is because this 2004 batch IAS officer still has approximately 12 years left to serve, but the sudden receipt of his VRS application caused a stir within the government.
Surprisingly, more than three months have passed since BVRC Purushottam applied for voluntary retirement, yet the matter remains unresolved at the government level. The important thing is that the formalities related to this officer’s voluntary retirement have not yet been completed. While there is a rule regarding All India Service, educational retirement is considered voluntary after three months of non-permission. However, the situation in this case is slightly different because it is reported that no file has been prepared at the government level.
