Punjab IAS officer Karnail Singh, from the 2015 batch, has retired from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) earlier than expected after his voluntary retirement service (VRS) request was approved by the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government.
Mr Singh, who last served as the Deputy Commissioner of Kapurthala, had submitted his VRS request on April 10, 2024.
His retirement comes ahead of schedule, as he was originally slated to retire in September 2024. Karnail Singh’s career trajectory included a promotion from the Provincial Civil Services (PCS) to the prestigious IAS cadre.
